Made with different types of marble –white Macael, black Marquina, white Carrara and grey tones from Portugal- the mosaic is a photorealistic reproduction of one of the most famous celebrations of Di Stéfano: the one of the goal he scored during the European Cup semifinals of 1958 against Vasas Budapest.

The marble design of this famous image was made by Vicente Atarés, using the “natural marble collage technique”. Created and patented by ATARÉS, this method blends technology and craftsmanship. Marble slabs are cut, without being printed nor dyed, in 1cm3 tesserae and then analyzed and catalogued. During the design process, thousands of tesserae are examined  and, depending on their white, grey and black tones, reordered to get the desired image. Finally, every mosaic is handmade finished by artisans, giving to each artwork a unique and one-of-a-kind finish.
