Craftsmanship and luxury have always been two key concepts in the interior design sector. In 2017, they have been linked through furniture, decorative accessories or finishes.
During this year, craft and luxury products have been two fundamental concepts in the interior design trends. This is stated by the Spanish designer Raul Martins who assures at Interiores Magazine that “the trends for interior design in 2017 are the use of old materials and techniques and, on the other hand, the return to the world of luxury.”
Craftsmanship has a remarkable role because traditional materials and techniques are being used again, meanwhile luxury has been relevant through quality and aesthetic finishes.
Luxury through materials
One of the ways to express luxury is through the selection of materials, where marble has always played an important role. Thanks to its versatility and natural characteristics, this natural stone has been permanently associated with ideas related to luxury and sophistication. As detailed in the analysis of uses and trends, marble is not an old fashioned material despite it has been used in classic design or as a raw material for sculptures since ancient times. Nowadays, design professionals create contemporary spaces with marble, whether in public areas, hotels or private residences.
Currently, a new form of craftsmanship, which is situated between the traditional and the avant-garde concepts and whose differential value is creativity, is becoming more popular. In this concept fits the patented method of ATARÉS Mosaics, “Natural marble collage”, in which with tiles of 1 cm ³, skilled mosaicists design with the veins and tones of the marble. With different formats and mosaic styles, this technique supposes a revolution in the use of natural stone. Find out more about our method.
A perfect match
Luxury and craftsmanship are connected by features they have in common, such as giving products unique and one-of-a-kind characteristics. These two factors are evident in the mosaics designed and made by ATARÉS, exclusively made with European marble and manufactured in Spain. This is due to the fact that stone is never dyed nor printed. The veins and tones of the marble is what configurates each design, with always a natural finish.
From smaller pieces for Home Decor to large murals for public or private spaces and logos made with the textures of the stone, each work of ATARÉS combines luxury and craftsmanship in a way never seen before.
